This Week: Life Blood Exhibit Opens!
Life Blood Exhibit opens at Gallery Visio this Thursday! This traveling exhibition curated by myself explores the theme of women’s reproductive health, from coming of age to motherhood to menopause and more. Each showing features new and different artists and artworks alongside of past inclusions. Some works are humorous while others are serious, but all are thought-provoking. Please see the show, join in the conversation, and help break the taboo!

I have been very busy this spring and will have work featured in several shows. This week, some of my smaller plein air paintings are going to be on display in Just Left of Spring at the Syndicate Building in downtown St. Louis. And the third showing of Life Blood Exhibit, the traveling menstruation art show that I curated, will open at Gallery Visio on Thursday, Feb. 24 from 4 - 7 PM, so be sure to check back here for more information closer to then.

Art of the Week: Girlhood Friends Remembered
I created these paintings awhile ago at a live art event, painting portraits of handmade dolls that my grandmother had bought for me as a child and that my mother rediscovered when cleaning out her house. These paintings and dolls are currently included in the Women's Art Show at Urban Art Retreat in Chicago, IL, which opened this past weekend.

More Website Updates
Thank you again to Chuck for working on my website. I seem to resolve to update it more every new year, and this one is no exception. So it's been through a lot of changes here lately.
This time we've posted pictures of some of my more current plein air paintings, along with my new Going Digital piece. Check out the updated plein air section here, including several paintings from 2010 which I just now got around to photographing.

Art of the Week: Going Digital
This piece has been in the works for awhile now and is a response to my previous question, what do I do with all of these slides? It incorporates art slides from my high school portfolio through 2007, VHS tape, 3 1/2" floppy disks, a slide carousel tray, copper wire and packing tape. This ensemble is meant to comment on how fast technology becomes outdated and how much waste is generated as it does.
